Lovely, polite receptionists - AWFUL AP Nurse
I recently joined the practice after suffering from prolonged symptoms which needed to be addressed. The reception staff were very polite and did their best to schedule an appointment with a Dr asap - unfortunately (do to no fault of their own) there was no Dr available quickly - as a result I was advised to see the Advanced Practitioner Nurse. I had the unfortunate experience of meeting this man - as soon as I walked into the room he said 'get to the point' before I had even spoke, he then laughed as I mentioned my symptoms and refused to listen to the additional details - he mocked me and continued to laugh as I suggested what the problem could be and ignored me - I felt belittled and patronised that I became tearful and left with a prescription that did not address my concerns. As a health professional myself who has worked in the NHS I am appalled and shocked that this behaviour occurs. Manners and professionalism comes for free and the anxiety and suffering patients may have should not be ignored. I am sure there are many hardworking AP Nurses but he is not one of them - I have booked an appointment with a Dr but unfortunately that is more time to endure these symptoms. I would like to reiterate how polite the reception staff were on both the phone and in person.
