About: South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust

We attended a&e after our 5 year old daughter fractured her right elbow. From the moment we booked in, she was treated with kindness and professionalism by every single member of staff. Every administrator /nurse/doctor/radiographer /plaster technician/anaesthetist /porter introduced themselves by name, checked her identity, explained what was about to happen, and put her completely at ease, despite the pain she was in. I am sorry that this feedback form does not permit names to be mentioned, because they all deserve a personal thank you. In particular the nurses who were so attentive and skilled when we were admitted to MacGregor Ward, and during our overnight stay on Bank Holiday Saturday/Sunday,especially the nurse who quickly returned as she was leaving her shift when our daughter vomited following her general anaesthetic. We were most impressed by the surgical team, and with the consultants who spoke to us immediately following surgery, explained what the procedure had involved, then clearly outlined what follow up treatment would include.. A massive thanks to all involved. We have since attended our first follow up appointment at our local hospital which has definitely shown how particularly excellent everyone at Warwick was. Unfortunately our treatment here was in stark contrast, and I will be using our experience in Warwick Hospital to demonstrate how excellent patient care can be achieved where there is a robust routine for addressing patients and safeguarding their personal details in order to provide a careful service tailored to their individual needs, with no exceptions or excuses.
