"Nightmare from hell"

About: Barnsley Hospital / Vascular surgery

My Experience with this place is one I would not wish my worst enemy to go through if I had one . I'll start with the Doctors and Nursing staff very over worked and under paid for the job they were doing to be honest this came over visually as they were being friendly but was under a lot of pressure due too poor management . There is no organization from the management I was in over the Bank holiday there was no clean laundry nurses was having to take from other wards . I witnessed nursing staff being assulted but when I stepped in to help a junior nurse I was told off by a senior member of staff the junior nurse showed gratitude and thanked me .

The food was very poor at Barnsley hospital I lived on egg sandwiches my wife tried to bring me in hot food but was told off this I found really insulting as I am a qualified chef trained to Michelin standards not being funny I wouldn't serve your food to farm animals it was unseasoned , pastry was sloppy there was curry on the menu one day the rice was sloppy and watery the curry looked like vomit . Care in General very poor on several occasions I had to wait 8 hours for dressing changes with infection leeking on to my bed on one occasion I waited 8 hours my wife called the ward because I was so frustrated the nurse came up to me shouted to me infront of the other patients I'll sort you out when I can I have more important things to do .

I wish there was more private hospitals in South Yorkshire as for I would rather pay to go private where you get much better service . I do hope when the prime minister invests more money into the NHS I do sincerely hope Barnsley hospital management invest there share into there staff which will then create a better patient experience .
