About: General practices in Lanarkshire University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I went to gp on Monday who sent me to a&e at Hairmyres  ( had pancreatitis and raised liver levels due to blockage in my bile duct ) - I was admitted after a while  even though hospital was full to capacity and crazy busy 😬 in 3 days I had 

Urine tests 

Pregnancy tests 

ECG, Xrays, ultra sounds 

MRI, Daily blood tests 

Iv fluids , 9 antibiotic drips and an injection to stop blood clots  

EVERY single member of staff were amazing ! from friendly porters to amazing nurses and the doctors and consultants were exceptional !! Especially the young doctor who went over and above his duties to make me feel less scared and even drew a diagram to let me see what will happen now ! ( can’t remember his name :( )   The staff in a&e worked so hard and always with a smile   Turned what was a terrible time into a positive experience
