"Admission to Ward 4 - every single staff member was amazing"

About: General practices in Lanarkshire University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency department

(as the patient),

I went to gp on Monday who sent me to a&e at Hairmyres  ( had pancreatitis and raised liver levels due to blockage in my bile duct ) - I was admitted after a while  even though hospital was full to capacity and crazy busy 😬 in 3 days I had

Urine tests

Pregnancy tests

ECG, Xrays, ultra sounds

MRI, Daily blood tests

Iv fluids , 9 antibiotic drips and an injection to stop blood clots

EVERY single member of staff were amazing ! from friendly porters to amazing nurses and the doctors and consultants were exceptional !! Especially the young doctor who went over and above his duties to make me feel less scared and even drew a diagram to let me see what will happen now ! ( can’t remember his name :( )   The staff in a&e worked so hard and always with a smile   Turned what was a terrible time into a positive experience

Dear Patient2711

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience and sound so positive yourself. It sounds as though you have been quite unwell and had a difficult time. The hospital has been very busy and therefore it is so important to hear that staff were smiling and explained decision making to you.

Staff will be delighted to you read your feedback and I will share with the wider teams as you have given such lovely comments.

I hope that your symptoms are settling and that you are recovering well.

Thank you again for taking time to feedback and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.

Lise
