We have had our 3 children in the midwife unit at AMH and we could not of asked for a better experience or level of care than we received each time.

For all 3 births I was able to access the pool. For my first baby I used the pool as a means of pain relief and I did the same with my other  babies but also delivered baby 2 and baby 3 in the pool.  

I found the pool helped instantly - the warm water was really comforting and soothing and I found I was able to move around and change positions a lot easier in the water. The whole environment in the pool room was calming and relaxing too which really helped especially with my first baby where i had no idea what to expect-it really calmed my nerves. I would highly recommend the use of a birthing pool! 

We were also extremely lucky in that we had the same midwife deliver all 3 of our babies. 

I found having that familiar and trusted person delivering our babies increased my

confidence during labour and made my whole birthing experience more relaxed,

calm and positive as a result. 

I felt safe both emotionally and physically throughout my labour as I trusted Linda and knew she would do everything she could to take care of me and my baby and make sure we were both safe and well at all times.

The after care was absolutely fantastic also.  We were given lots of time to be alone with our new baby in a room which had been really nicely done up.

I cannot thank the staff in the midwife unit enough or sing their praises high enough and especially to Linda for helping and supporting me to bring our 3 babies safely into the world!
