(as the patient),

as previously stated i was recently discharged from hospital and i attended outpatients for a review, staff were lovely and very helpful.

as it had been a long day we decided to visit the hospital canteen thinking surely it must be better than the food on the wards .... wrong! It was not.
£5.20 for macaroni cheese?  i nearly had a heart attack when i seen that!
portion sizes that wouldn't feed a 10 year old let alone a grown man.  I believe that the hospital does not care about the quality of food.
Between this and the food provided in the wards which I also experienced, i am now 100% committed to writing to the health minister

We apologise that the catering within the restaurant did not meet the high standards expected.

Please note that the restaurant within the hospital is a retail outlet and prices are regularly reviewed to ensure they are in line with similar retail outlets within the local area.

All hot foods are prepared daily on the premises by trained chefs.

In line with other retail outlets portion control is similar and menu items are priced accordingly.

Please note that there customer feedback forms are available within the restaurant with the Catering team encouraged to ask customers for feedback to review the overall Catering service.
