I made a 999 call recently and asked for an ambulance; she was in a lot of distress and my brother and I were concerned that she had broken something. We were advised to make her as comfortable as we could and not to move her.
The team of paramedics that arrived were very friendly and reassured mum that they would check to see if she had broken anything and managed to get her up and on to a chair taking her blood pressure, checking her heart etc.
The team consisted of Natasha, Tom and Ray (based at Sighthill). They showed mum a lot of respect and when the time came to get mum changed, Natasha and I washed and changed mum, maintaining her dignity/modesty at all times. This is very important for a lady of my mum's age.
I cannot speak more highly of the team they are credit to the NHS in general and the Scottish ambulance service in particular.
