"Fed up staff"

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital

(as a relative),

I went to the main canteen at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.  The staff member serving the hot breakfast was so grumpy and borderline rude.

When I joked to the person on the til that they perhaps needed a break and was not happy they were equally unimpressed.  I discreetly mentioned this to a few diners who said it is always like that in there.

This is a hospital, the staff need to be served happily so that they can continue the happiness to the patients and as a visitor, I really needed a smile as I had just made a huge decision regarding my mother's health and felt like crying before eating so a friendly atmosphere would have been much nicer that what I actually received.

I will be a regular for a while I would imagine and if this continues, believe me it will be an official complaint.

Dear Sir/Madam

Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments on this website.

I am sorry to read of the problems you have experienced in Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

I was also sorry to learn that you felt that the staff were borderline rude and were helping to create a friendly atmosphere.

I would be very grateful if you could contact the Patient Advice & Liaison Service (PALS) on 01296 316042 to talk about your specific experience, and to see how we may be able to assist you at this time.

In the meantime I will share your comments with the main canteen.

Kind regards

Anthony Banton
