I have recently finished an exercise based Cardiac Rehab course in Forth Valley. All the staff were excellent ( Lindsay, Lara, Kirsty, Yvonne, Amy, Caroline, apologies if I have forgotten anyone or muddled up names ) kind, knowledgeable, supportive and made taking part enjoyable.
I was asked what my objectives were at the start and managed to achieve them. Being diagnosed with any cardiac issues is scary, although I was managing to walk a fair distance most days I was afraid to push myself exercise wise. The class provided me with a safe environment to increase the amount of aerobic exercise and my confidence grew.
At the end of the course I was given the opportunity to attend follow on classes and have been referred to the exercise referral scheme at the Peak.
Thank you to NHS Forth Valley for providing such a fantastic resource which has reminded me how wonderful and chuffed exercise can make us feel.
