"Unable to get an appointment at all. Rude..."

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

So... after waiting for ages for my GP to see me regarding my fertility, I was referred to see a gynecologists. The letter for my referral almost took a month to arrive. The letter stated to call in a week if I had not received a call to arrange an appointment. I called up as no contact had been received and was advised by the receptionist that there were no appointments and thats why she hadn't called me. She didn't take any of my details and just said they were busy and that there is a list. When I asked how long I could be waiting she just said she didn't know. I understand that the NHS is busy but why send me a letter telling me to call by a certain date if I hadn't heard anything to then be told you're busy and will call me. It's not helpful and very distressing!!
