My care by the maternity team was absolutely incredible. I went into labour at 36/40. When I arrived in triage I was seen swiftly. The care that was provided to me by the night staff on labour ward was amazing. Everyone was very professional. Unfortunately my baby ended up in scbu at 2 days old for jaundice and the scbu team were also fantastic. I was keen to breastfeed but due to the jaundice was advised to top up with formula which I wasn’t keen to do. Having spoken to the infant feeding co-ordinator I decided to express and breastfeed, which seemed to work. Everyone I encountered during my time in the maternity unit from Triage to Mulberry ward including SCBU were amazing. I felt I was kept very well informed about what was happening and was made to feel very comfortable.
I would definitely recommend Whipps Cross Maternity Unit.
"Great maternity experience"
