"surgical outpatients departmentq"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

I had an appointment yesterday and the delays were about an hour. In that hour I watched two members of staff go to the water machine with their own bottles and place the top of the bottle on the pipe and fill them up. That must be the most unhygienic practice in a hospital I can think of. There were no cups on the machine which in hindsight was probably a good thing. Bottles should be filled up at a sink and the bottle top kept well away from the tap. Stomach bugs waiting to happen here!! Needs addressing.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I will of course pass your concerns onto the Management Team for the department as I'm sure you understand we take issues of infection control very seriously.

Best wishes

Lisa
