In the last few weeks, both myself and my 7yr old daughter have been patients withing the hospital. She was in Paediatrics and I was in AAU. Both wards did a fantastic job of looking after us and the staff are to be commended for their manner and professionalism. The only problem I have to say it that despite this hospital being around now for over 10yrs there is still no phone reception or effective WIFI for patients and families. This was more evident to me when my child was admitted as an emergency and I wanted to respond to family messages immediately to allay their concerns without leaving her side. It is easy to say that there are portable phones which can be used but this is not the expectation people have. They are used to having immediate and constant access to family contacts, nor does it benefit the staff if we are constatly requesting more of their time to go and fetch a phone. WIFI passwords have not worked! ! Come on Forth Valley...sort it out!
