The care on triage was a mix of good and bad. I was strapped up the a machine for a good hour the machine its self was not working correctly it was showing that my sons heart rate was high then low then completely stopped upon telling one the midwifes she agreed that this machine wasnt working but I still remained on it for a further half an hour for no reason at all. I was told I would need an internal examination to see if my water were leaking. Midwife came did the examination was told my waters were not leaking ( I am a very stubborn person I wasnt leaving without a second oppinion) I started contracting not long after this. Doctor came examined me again and was positive my waters had gone. Delivery was fine lovely midwife who I couldn't thank enough looked after us all. I was moved to labour ward 18 so my son could be given antibiotics for group B strep doctors and midwifes arranged for my son to have his first dose very quickly. Lovely midwifes that couldn't help enough, one in particular was very forward about keeping all curtains open unless feeding. One of the days i was there I was considerably upset and was told no matter how upset I am I am not aloud to close the curtains not even for 5 minutes privacy. On the 3rd day on ward 18 there was chatter from the midwifes that there was no cleaning staff and you could tell the bins had not been emptied the floor not cleaned the bathroom was a disgrace there was even blood stains left on the toilet seat no toilet roll at one point It and was told to just use a different bathroom that was fine for me but not for the section mums that were struggling. Midwifes on the night shift were conciderably more understanding and attentive.
