I came in today because my asthma got worse. The first I was told was that it'd take 5 hours and 28 minutes to be finally seen by a doctor. As I was short of breath I requested if I could be put on nebuliser and seen by a doctor. Luckily, a doctor arrived in 10 mins. The impression I had was she looked annoyed. She quickly checked my chest with the stethoscope and said there was no wheezing.i tried to tell her that I was short of breath and coughing. The cough was making it worse. She kept walking away saying she would put me on nebuliser. I was amazed at the doctor's impatience to even listen what I was saying. Such insensitivity. Actively listening even for a minute seemed a luxury to this doctor. What nonchalance!!! It was a clear case of the doctor affected by 'selective perception' - because she only wanted to see and hear what she wanted to see and hear. Moreover, there were not many patients and I could see the doctor walking around. It seemed as if she was taking time so that she could see fewer patients. It's been six hours and I'm still here...looks like it's going to be longer because at 8am it's 'handover' time. Pathetic service. Today's date is 20 August 2019.
