Visited the hospital yesterday 6th August 2019 to the Breast Clinic on the red zone which was easy to locate, well signed, stairs or lifts for easier access. I went to enquire about the lump my gp found in my right breast. After waiting 12-15 mins in busy waiting room, I notice they took women in 3s so it was very quick and efficient. The consultant I saw was absolutely lovely. She listened as I spoke and then examined me finding 3 lumps and one of them in my left breast. As you can imagine I was beside myself but the consultant was fab at explaining and reassuring me the different outcomes of these lumps can be from nothing to serious but not to worry as she will arrange for me to have a scan and mammogram. I thought I'd wait a few weeks to hear about my next appointment so you can imagine how surprised and very grateful I was to be told to go back to the waiting room and I would be seen that day. I waited 5-10mins at most and got first scan from a lovely nurse who put me at ease straight away. I went back to waiting room and 5 mins later had a mammogram.... Now that's fantastic and very much appreciated when you've just been told there's not one lump but 3.after mammogram I wait 5 mins more and back to the lovely smiling consultant. She explained everything was good and nothing u towards were found. She showed me each scan and lump and explained what they were and what caused them. I couldn't thank her enough. This was an amazing outcome from a terrified woman who will always be grateful to the care the Dr, nurses and receptionist gave her while visiting this hospital. Thank you from the bottom of my heart NHS as per you do amazing work.
