I arrived at ward 3A ward around 7pm, I diagnosed with multiple pulmonary embolisms. I had to make my own bed, no table, chair or draws.
I was weighed and observations taken.
I was extremely concerned as the lack of care an elderly distressed patient across from me received from some staff on the ward. I had to leave the ward as I was too distressed to listen.
At 3am I asked a nurse for sleeping pills as I was distressed and couldn’t sleep. one of the nurses said no to my request, so I requested to speak to the doctor. The same nurse then again said, no point, the doctor will also say no.
At 4.30am I asked again for the doctor and the nurse said fine. The doctor came at nearly 5am and denied any form of sleeping aids as it was nearly day time. I was very upset crying and saying I requested them at 3am. The doctor said the nurse only messaged him at 4.30.
What I witnessed was uncaring and inhumane.
