My mother in law has just left Thistle Ward after a long stay. She has a complicated condition which meant she was very dependent on the staff for help. She was a nurse herself many years ago so has definite expectations of what good care should be. We were really impressed with all the care she received from the staff on Thistle Ward, not just the nurses or the doctor and her team who were all excellent, but also the cleaners and helpers and the young man who gave out the teas.
Everyone seemed genuinely kind and caring towards her, and she felt that she was being treated like a human being. Despite being obviously stretched for time and feeling under pressure, the staff treated the family kindly and respectfully.
Changes in her medical condition were explained clearly to her and to the family either by the doctor herself or by one of her team.
We are very grateful for all the excellent care and treatment she received on Thistle Ward and would definitely recommend it to other families.
"Excellent care and treatment by a great team on..."
