"I felt very well looked after"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

Just a note to thank everyone at the Endoscopy Department at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. I had a colonoscopy recently and found it a very difficult experience made easier by the fab staff.

The nurses in the room were amazing and helped me through the procedure with their chat, jokes, stories and good humour. They were professional yet very friendly which I appreciated a great deal. The doctors were great as well and being reassured that "nothing bad was happening" really helped. The staff in reception and recovery were fab and made me feel at ease.

I felt very well looked after and safe in their hands.

The only downside of the experience was the heat in the department. I am unsure of the temperature in the waiting room but in the theatre room, it was over 28deg C which is a bit much for patients and staff! Other than that, the whole experience couldn't have been better. Thanks again to all the endoscopy staff in the department, much appreciated.

Dear Unhappy 36

Thank you for taking the time to share your story.

I am glad that you felt well looked after and in safe hands. I am certain that the Endoscopy Staff will be delighted to receive such positive feedback.

I will also speak to my colleagues in the Estates Department about the heat in the waiting room.

I hope you are recovering well.

Yours sincerely

John Stuart

Chief Nurse
