"Disgraceful"

About: Heath Hill Surgery

My son had an urgent referral to see a consultant further to an out of hours appointment. He was told to go for an Xray which he did. 5 days later the Xray results had not been even read by the doctor. When the doctor did call him, she said 'What do you want to know'! Do you think you have cancer!! Absolutely appalling to say the least.

We are so very sorry to hear about this experience and your reaction is completely understandable. We do record all calls and would like to investigate this as a matter of urgency. It may be that that clinician needs to reflect on her telephone manner and consultation skills. We cannot trace which patient/day/time this relates to as this feedback is anonymous, and would be very grateful if you could contact the surgery with any details - either: member of staff, practice manager or any of the GP partners please. We will deal with your information confidentially and reassure you that the quality of care delivered to you will not be affected. Additionally, this information will definitely identify training needs which we will address as found after investigation - and will be of great benefit to all patients. Sincere apologies again, and best wishes.
