"Post Operative Care"

About: London Bridge Hospital Southwark PCT

(as the patient),

I had an operation for Crohn's Disease last Thursday. It is in the anal region. This is the third operation I have had like this. The key to it being successful is daily packing of the wound.

I have had district nurses in the past come to pack the wound as I live by myself and obviously cannot drive.

This time, the nurses have asked me to go to the practice nurse at the surgery. The practice nurse has no appointments so I have to every day go to the NHS Walk in Centre to have my wound packed.

In addition to the difficulty with transport (I will probably attempt to drive), I have to wait an unknown time daily for two weeks at least.

I feel like I am being fobbed off and no one wants to help.
