About: Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust

My son, his partner and young baby were involved in a frightening car accident on the M26 on 12 August. Luckily they were taken to St Helier A and E where all staff they came into contact were with kind, caring and dealt with them quickly. My sons girlfriend was seen and then able to wait with their baby in children’s a and e while she waited for an X-ray. The young paediatric doctor put us all at ease and regularly checked on the baby as did the nursing team. The consultant then took time to explain why they were keeping the baby in overnight. She was admitted to the children’s ward really quickly and the staff checked not only on her through the night but also her mum to check she was ok too. We are not local to St Helier but I have experienced several hospitals and this has been by far the most positive experience in difficult circumstances. The doctor in adult a and e dealt with the babies mum as quickly as she could so that she was able to join her baby on the ward quickly too.when we arrived this morning a volunteer in Reception helped us find our way back to the ward and again the nursing staff and the doctors were so lovely and discharged our baby as quickly as they could. You are doing a great job! Thank you
