Are there any tips on how to get an appointment?

Hi, does anyone have any tips on how to get an appointment at this surgery please? If you were successful in getting an appointment, what did you say to facilitate the process? Pray tell please.

I understand the concept of you need to phone them but if you try calling them over 100 times as I've done and finally get told there are no appointments available or be given any advice by the receptionist after you've told her of your ailment doesn't make sense to me.

So if any souls were able to get an appointment, could they please give tips? Many thanks

To the anonymous patient that left this comment if you would like to contact the practice and speak to the Operations Manager or Reception Co-ordinator the practice would be happy to investigate specific issues, particularly your comment about trying over 100 times as our telephone call system has a call management system that can be interrogated.

The practice are starting to audit appointments, particularly where patients do not attend and do not advise the practice beforehand and those appointments could be offered to other patients and there will be a campaign to promote patients to cancel appointments where they cannot attend to help alleviate some of these issues. The practice are also looking at recruitment of more clinicians at the practice but this is taking longer than expected due to national and Swindon GP / Nurse recruitment issues.
