Third visit to A&E Horton this week. No complaints about the service or care I have received. However, Hospital admin and security staff need to pay more attention to enforcing the rules of the hospital. The site is a no smoking site and yet, despite there being massive and very clear signs outside the entrance, there is a most inconsiderate woman who insists on smoking in the doorway. All of her smoke is blowing back into A&E waiting area because the automatic doors are set to permanently open. What is the point of having a no smoking policy if it is not enforced?
Patients need to be protected against this kind of selfish and inconsiderate behaviour. She may want lung cancer.....I, and I'm sure many other people sitting waiting for treatment including children, do not.
