When I was told I had cancer of the larynx it was terrible.
I just couldnt believe it was happening to me. I felt very scared but the doctors and nurses were amazing, so very kind and patient.
I was told I would receive a telephone call later that week to tell me what treatment I would be offered and given a number to ring to speak to a nurse and ask any questions I needed to.
I was admitted to hospital a couple of weeks later for an operation then I had 6 weeks of radiotherapy treatment with all that entails, many scans, 5 years of follow up appointments / check ups and met some wonderful people along the way.
I cannot praise the NHS highly enough for the wonderful treatment I received, I am truly thankful and will be for evermore,
