I don't usually post reviews but I just wanted to post here to let others know if you are having a gastroscopy procedure at QA there is nothing to fear! I suffer from anxiety and was frankly quite terrified. I was also anxious about managing my glucose levels as I am type 1 diabetic. After much dreaded anticipation I had my procedure early this morning. Waiting is often the worst part in my opinion, but thankfully the wait was not to long. I made my fears and concerns known and all the staff were brilliant!! Very reassuring and personable while also ultra efficient. I had several opportunities to ask questions and things were explained to me. I requested sedation and they happily gave it to me. The throat spray was fine did not taste bad at all. I remember gagging slightly for a few seconds thinking this is it..but actually it was all over and I was only gagging as the scope was being removed. No pain and I don't remember the scope going down or anything. Once home I still felt quite drowsy from sedation so just rested for few hours. Feeling fine now, no side affects. I would recommend sedation! And to to just try to relax as you are in very good hands at QA and its all over very quickly.
