"Communication needs to be improved"

About: General practices in Forth Valley

(as the patient),

Was asked to attend my GP surgery as my blood tests needed to be repeated (I attended a few weeks ago). I was met by a different staff member but my experience was the same as last time. No introduction (no visible ID badge), the member of staff did not ask me for any details to identify myself - straight on to the veins.

I mentioned that I also had an appointment for a test later that day which the staff member very kindly said they could do after the bloods. Still no introduction or checking my D. O. B etc,

I fed this back to the member of staff afterwards and they did then apologise and tell me their name. I feel that communication needs to be improved as I left feedback on my last visit and nothing has changed!

Dear Staff Member as a Patient

Many thanks for taking the time to leave feedback about your experience when attending your GP Practice. I was wondering if I could ask you to get in touch with me, you have raised a couple of very important concerns that I would like to share directly with the General Practice involved, to enable me to do this I need a little bit more information about the practice that you attend.

To contact me you can email me on Pauline.donnelly1@nhs.net or you can phone me on 01324 566523.

I look forward to hearing form you.

Kindest regards

Pauline
