"Helped me be able to think"

About: Community Forensic Services / Nottinghamshire MBT Service

(as a service user),

I completed the Mentalization Based Treatment (MBT) introduction group at the Mandala Centre last week.

This group/treatment helped me be able to think and challenge my thoughts better. Helped me learn to trust people + helped me think a bit more about how other people may think.

I found some of the other group members made me feel disrespected because they messed about/used their phones

Thank you to the facilitators.

Thanks for this feedback. It's really encouraging to know that you were able to get so much out of the group (despite some other members). This is hard work, isn't it? As you say, it's about challenging our own thoughts. But I do hope that you will continue to see the benefits.

A number of people have made positive comments about this MBT work. On Thursday I'm going to see other providers in the East Midlands to plan our services for the future. I'll feed into that discussion how powerful it can be.

With best wishes.

Peter

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. I'm pleased you found the MBT approach so helpful, I will make sure I share your comments with the team/facilitators. It's really positive to hear from you that after the 12 week introduction group you felt more able to challenge your own thoughts and thinking, this feels very encourgaing when thinking about a possible future move into therapy.

Group work can be hard at times and it seems that you had some difficuulites with other group members. I will ensure this feedback is given to the facilitators as there may be alternative ways we can address this going forward (I know there are group rules about respect which everyone signs up to, maybe we need to look at how we approach this).

Best wishes, Louisa
