"GP service of adult A and E"

About: Royal Derby Hospital / Emergency department

i attended A and E several months he ago regarding sensation in my leg which previously swelling of my leg and finding about complications to my knee requiring surgery. I saw a male GP he questioned why I was there and told me what do you wAnt me to do? I required a scan which I did eventually get by going back to the knee surgeon who luckily listened to me. I wasn’t going to say anything but again today for an ear which has been discharging fluid continuously for three days and the other ear and an eye now discharging. I was advised by 111 to attend a and e urgently. The triage nurse was lovely but the female GP had a very bad attitude and asked me why I was at a and e. I told her 111 had referred me, I had pain in my ear and jaw, sometimes numbness. She told me 111 were not medical and when I told her a nurse called me back and asked me to attend a and e the gp said they are covering there back. I told her I am medical and also the triage nurse said she can refer me to ent or even back to a and e if they think appropriate. She told me I didn’t need to be there and only gave me antibiotics after I pushed for them. She told me the fluid was due to shower behind my ear drum which was stupid because I’ve not had water in my ear. She told me to contact ent myself. She told me she doesn’t know what to do. I am so very disappointed with the service and I won’t bother in future. Like I said I’m medical so I worry for patients who are not and won’t return again if it was something urgent.
