"Patient discharge from the ward"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Acute Medical Initial Assessment

(as the patient),

After receiving excellent overnight care in Ward 101 ARI I waited from 1130 until 1520 for necessary medication to arrive from pharmacy.

I was frustrated that I had asked a family member to come straight away to collect me as I live an hours drive away and we were creating more work for an already very busy staff. They kept us updated at all times.

We were sitting with others who shared a similar experience and whilst being aware of the volume of patients travelling throughout the facility wonder if the pharmacy staff need more colleagues.

Dear landyman,

Thank you for taking the time to give the team in Ward 101 feedback. I am so pleased to hear that you received excellent care in Ward 101. The team will be delighted to hear this.

I am sorry to hear that you had to wait a long time for your medication. Within Unscheduled Care we are constantly looking at ways to improve the care we provide to our patients and are doing improvement work on discharge prescriptions.

I hope you are recovering well and feeling better.

Julie
