"My clinical placement with CENTRAL WANDSWORTH AND WEST BATTERSEA (CMHT) TEAM"

About: South West London And St George's Mental Health NHS Trust

(as a student nurse),

Dear readers,

I am a Mental Health student-nurse , just about rounding up my first year and 6weeks long experience here in CWWB. The period has been full of skills development and rewarding moments. The time flew so fast because the staff were welcoming, ready to support students with all developmental needs and with such a busy office, I was involved in many aspects of clinical learning and real life situations that focused on the holistic healthcare delivery of clients.

Special thanks to everyone in CWWB (CMHT) for your support, advice, immense kindness and understanding readiness to help. I am most grateful. Discussions about personal/ interpersonal skills, effective communication, administration of depot, planning/ giving reports at meetings, pursuing and administration of section 135(2) warrant, engagement and establishment of initial suicidal risk assessment with clients, engaging in ward round meetings/ CPA meetings/ team building, showing empathy and delivery of holistic care to patients/ needs and many other skills are some of my take away from here. I am indeed thankful for impacting such helpful tools. They are all very fresh and empowering.

While rounding up my six-weeks placement today, start of August, I must say that this placement have been the very best for me so far. I really enjoyed every bit of my learning times and hoping to come back again sometime in nearest future. I wish you all a lovely day.
