"Just want to get rid of you"

First saw them in October last year.

They just want to get rid of you.

Do not let on that you drink AT ALL whatsoever because you will be classed as someone who goes down the shop at 6.00 to get drink and you will be refused all treatment, even if you have been trying to get treatment from the mental health services since you were a teenager and have been through the mental health system for DECADES, held down jobs successfully, held down a house successfully, saved money etc.

If they have any inkling you might drink at all they will refer you on to a cheap option.

I have had numerous reports of ambulances coming out to me over the past 2-3 months because of life events and long existing mental health problems, not alcohol, which could have been prevented if they did their job in October instead of shunting me away and saying I would be better if I just sobered up - they said I would feel much better the next day!

Ha-ha!

This is despite a 35 year history of depression, anxiety and suicide attempts.

I did sober up.

I was NOT better as I was not before I even started drinking (childhood).

I told them that. I have lost thousands of pounds and gone from being a good employee to unemployable, nearly been sectioned because they refuse to help and in October alcohol services who they referred me to said I did not drink enough to warrant treatment but CH told me that I could not access any treatment at all back in October due to alcohol use though.

It was only the Jobcentre that told me that this was not correct at all, i.e. CH lied to me, and delayed treatment at all to get rid of me from the MH services.

CH just just pigeon-holed me, assumed things about me which are not true to get me on the cheapest possible option.

I am only giving them one point because I cannot give them zero or minus, minus because they actually make things worse for you.

There is no personalised care, there is no proper assessment of anybody if it doesn't suit them and their budget constraints.

My case worker has not got in touch with me for weeks now and I am accused suddenly of not attending appointments.

I had no appointments offered to me!

They just don't seem to understand that you can be upset and angry and depressed WITHOUT drinking at all.

Maybe you drink because of mental illness!

I have a long history of that WITHOUT drinking at all.

In October I and was told my diagnosis was based on my PREVIOUS diagnosis (pretty incorrect anyway) but my TREATMENT was based on my presentation that day, i.e. hungover.

That makes no sense, given my very long history of trying to get help.

It is just picking and choosing according to what they want to save them money.

Will not take you seriously if you ring up the Crisis Line.

You are just a drunk if you have that on your record and they just disregard everything you FEEL, all of your experiences and thoughts, all that makes you what you are and how you behave. What happened to proper counselling?

We are sorry to hear that you have not had the level of support and responsiveness that we would expect for people under our care.

In order to understand what has happened and see how we can improve your care, and the service we provide more generally, it would be helpful if you spoke to the service manager.

You can call 01634 583020 and ask for Sarah Hodge. Please mention that you have been directed to her as a result of your post on NHS.UK.

If Sarah is not available it will be possible to speak to one of the Team managers.

If you would prefer to speak to someone independent of the community team then you could contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 0800 587 6757 or email kmpt.pals.kmpt@nhs.net.
