"Mum well looked after"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Care of the Elderly (Wards 13-16)

(as a volunteer/advocate),

Ward 14. End of life care has been faultless. Every single person has been fantastic looking after both our mum and the family members. Staff really quick with additional medication. Mum is getting excellent personal care. Staff always dealing with mum in a lovely manner. Doctors coming in every morning and spoken to family members and kept involved in mums care. Ward environment is very calm. Family have never felt that staff feel they are in the way. Happy if not with mum that staff are looking after her well. Staff bringing family iced water which was very welcomed.

Dear Uhh39

Thank you for taking the time to reflect and post such kind words regarding the staff caring for your mum.

End of life care for anyone, be they family or friends can be difficult as we all have different desires and personal concerns at this time. I'm pleased for you, your family and of course your mum that we are getting the right balance of care and compassion for you all at this emotional time.

If there is anything you need, please just ask and we will support in any way possible.

Kind regards

Gwen
