My 88 year old Mum had been ill for some weeks and attended her GP. After 2 weeks of treatment, he referred her to Hospital at Home due to her experiencing extreme fatigue amongst other symptoms. Hospital at Home attended on the day they got the referral. Both nurses were prompt, knowledgeable and more importantly, took the time to really listen to my Mum. Tests were completed in my Mum's home including bloods and ECG. The consultant visited Mum to continue her care and examine her. All of the above happened in one day!
More bloods are to be taken over the next few days and some medication has been stopped (advice from the consultant). This service is a credit to General Hospital Wishaw. Jackie and her colleagues made my Mum feel so much better not only with their medical knowledge but by also listening and treating her with respect. They will continue to monitor Mum until she feels better. The family are so grateful for the help and advice and we will be forever grateful. Every hospital should have a Jackie and Co!!
