The Recovery College
I have been attending the college this time round since March 2018
At the moment I am attending Effective Communication through assertiveness
The presenters of this one Stella & Bob make a good team and make it interesting and concise What I have observed about Stella is as we do feedback along the way she suggests how this may have come up in training content In my opinion confirms to me that she really values your input
I have found this course helpful in dealing with a current close friendship where they have automatic response to my suggestions about when if we can meet up socially
I have gained the confidence to challenge and make them aware that no more will I accept it and we need to continue the conversation for a positive outcome without doubting each other I feel more respected now by action and not just word
I feel we have both gained from this and our friendship more about give and take as it has been before I have recently been discharge by my Recovery support.
Attending courses have had major impact on my journey through mental illness diagnosed 40 years plus I look forward to attending more courses next term
