Hi there,

My Gramps was a patient within ward 17 over the last week or so. He sadly passed away at the beginning of this week, whilst still on the ward. 

I would just like to thank all the staff within the ward for all their hard work and for how loving and caring they all were towards my Gramps and my family at such a hard time. There was a couple of nurses in particular that went above and beyond, however I don’t really want to mention any names just incase. We wouldn’t have managed through this without you all!!!

Firstly may I offer my sincere condolences to you and your family. This must be such a difficult time for you all.

Thank you so much for your very kind posting on Care Opinion. I am so pleased that you felt the staff were loving and caring to your Gramps and your family. It is so important for us to get it right when a patient is at the end of their life and knowing that we got it right for you and your family will be a great comfort to the staff in the ward. This is the care we strive to deliver every day and I am glad that you and your family felt supported during this most difficult time.

As the Senior Nurse for Ward 17, I will ensure your kind words are shared with the staff.
