Took my 13 year old daughter in to Uckfield MIU this afternoon with a suspected broken ankle.
We were booked in quickly and my daughter was given a wheelchair to sit in.
However, after two hours of waiting I spoke to the administrator to point out that 4 or 5 people had arrived after us but been seen before us, so I felt we were wasting our time.
I asked to check my daughter out so we could try elsewhere.
The administrator didn't seem bothered.
She went off and then came back and asked for my daughters name.
I returned my daughter to the car using the wheelchair and then returned the wheelchair to the MIU unit.
They thanked me for returning the wheelchair but said nothing else.
I was really shocked by the service as when we have used the MIU unit in the past they have been excellent.
I suspect they will say that they were really busy, but that was clearly not the case.
There were more staff than patients throughout the two hours we were waiting.
I will be taking my daughter to EDGH this evening to get treatment.
"What a shambles!"
