After an extreemly long wait - nearly 45 minutes, we were shown in to see the doctor. The main investment in this extreemly unkempt building seems to be in security which must be very distressing for someone who is mentally ill - dirty old fitted carpet but no doors which open without swipe cards. The staff were friendly enough. The doctor we saw had not typed up or sent off the letter from the last consultation three months previously. This has been an ongoing problem. The GP is then not informed and cannot take further action. The GP is however, as I understand it, the only doctor who can write prescriptions and act on the reccommendations made.
The doctor spent alot of time with us and was very kind but the fact that they could not give us the last letter - it wasnt ready to be printed off - took notes on a loose piece of paper, had a very untidy desk and office, didn't leave such a good impression.
Upon enquiring at the GPs surgery if they could chase up the letter I was informed this is up to the patient - rather a tall order from someone who is mentally ill I fear.
Feelings would perhaps best be discribed as a sense of dispair and immense frustration.
