We visited critical care on Thursday 18th July with our son who had visited his doctor in the morning and given antibiotics for an infection and told to go back to gp if no better in 24 hours but unfortunately he went down hill very quickly so we decided to take him to Penzance. We were checked in at the desk by a very nice nurse and then told to take a seat but I took one look at my son and went back to the desk, at which point they took him straight through. He was then treated and diagnosed with sepsis at the very early stages, thank goodness I made him go. He was given a large of dose of antibiotics and immediately you could see the difference, we were then transferred to Truro. Because of the quick response he received he was then discharged next day and is well on the way to a recovery. We would like to say a big thank you to all staff involved in his care especially at Penzance. All staff do a fantastic job sometimes in very difficult circumstances. Thank you again.
