After discovering a large and painful lump in my left breast, I saw my lovely GP at The Old School Medical Practice, who referred me for an appointment at the Magnolia Centre at York Hospital - I got the appointment within a couple of days :)
Like most people who need to go for such an appointment, I was a bit scared & apprehensive..... BUT I was so reassured by the slick teamwork, and the way I was cared for by the staff - really professional.
The set-up is very 'slick' - I was shown to waiting room, then after a short wait escorted to another room to have a physical examination by a lovely duo of Consultant & Nurse, I was then escorted back to waiting area, and within 15 mins had a Mammogram, then after another wait of only 20 mins, back to the duo team of Consultant and Nurse who explained that I fortunately only had a cyst which could be drained (aspirated) then and there!
After a brief discussion between us, we decided to go ahead with it ......
I told them that I am afraid of needles, so the lovely Nurse held my hand and reassured me and, as I looked the other way, the Consultant did his job.....
I was amazed!
I hardly felt any pain, and the lump was gone.
(He showed me what came out and explained what it was etc....)
They were absolutely fantastic and informative.
Told me to come back any time if I had any more problems.
THANK YOU!!
