"My wife was treated with passion and dignity to..."

About: Ealing Hospital

My dear wife passed away at Ealing Hospital on the 12th July 2019.

from complications involving terminal pancreatic cancer. From the very moment of her arrival at A&E she was treated professionally and with the utmost passion and dignity from ALL NHS staff. They went beyond the call of duty to ensure she received everything she needed. When it was clear my darling was dying a private room was found for her and our family were told visiting hours for us were unlimited. As such my wife was never left alone 24/7. She passed away peacefully without pain whilst I was able to tell her how much she was loved. How much she had been a good mum to our children: who by fate were absent at this very private and spiritual moment. I honestly can't find words enough to express my love and thanks to everyone. For all the nurses. The meals and refreshment staff and last but very much not least - the doctors. BLESS YOU ALL.

Dear Sir

Thank you so very much for sharing your experience with us. I was very sorry to learn that your wife sadly passed away and would wish to offer you and your family my sincere condolences for your loss.

It was most heartening to read that the staff who were looking after your wife were able to make a distressing time for you both a little more bearable. I will ensure that your kind words are shared with the senior team in Ealing and also across the Trust. They are an example of how simple things such as ensuring your wife had a private room with unlimited visiting hours helped you both say goodbye the way you would have wanted to.

I am very grateful to you once again for letting us know how our staff were able to help at such a difficult time. Your kind words are truly appreciated.

Kind regards

Peter Hare
