"They really make a difference"

About: Six Degrees IAPT

(as a service user),

After suffering from anxiety and depression for as long as I can remember, things just got a little too much for me to cope with alone. I was referred to CBT by my doctor. Admittedly, I went in sceptical as I didn't think chatting to someone for half an hour every two weeks could make a difference but I was wrong.

I've just finished my last session and I can honestly say that I haven't felt this great in such a long time. Working with my therapist has been a revelation. He's taught me how to recognise my triggers, how to deal with them and most importantly has helped me feel happy to be inside my own head again.

My only regret is that I put off asking for help for so long. If you're in a dark place, it'd nice to know that there are people like my therapist out there who can really make a difference.
