"Miscarriage management"

About: Calderdale Royal Hospital / Gynaecology

i had been having ivf and unfortunately had a miscarriage. The doctors and nurses in the fertility clinic have been very understanding and efficient.

After finding out that the foetus in my womb was not alive, I was asked to wait until the miscarriage happened naturally. After waiting 2 weeks, nothing happened and it was decided that I would be given some tablets from the ward in order to induce the miscarriage.

The doctor arranged me to go to the ward immediately and the nurses were kind and understanding. The only criticism that I have is the seating arrangement while you are waiting on the ward. I don't think it's fair to be seated next to people who have just had a scan for a healthy pregnancy and are sitting holding up their scan picture and discussing their happy news. It makes the experience of having a miscarriage even more traumatic and I think if it's possible, this should be taken into consideration
