"Cancer Pathway"

About: Clatterbridge Cancer Centre - Wirral

(as a relative),

This is a story I wanted to share. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer 10 years ago and underwent successful surgical intervention. However, of recent the cancer has returned with vengeance. This was not a pathway anyone wants to travel, but we started our journey last week with radiotherapy at the Clatterbridge centre at the Aintree site. This was not an easy path but the staff, facilities and pathways were exceptional. Having worked within the NHS myself as a nurse /paramedic for almost a lifetime, I have never seen care delivered in such a professional caring and understanding manner. Our thanks go out to Danny and the other interventional radiographers, who showed my mother and myself so much care love and understanding. Likewise, all the reception staff, where no task or question was too big an ordeal. We were only there one day and they knew my mother name and guided us down the appropriate pathways. An excellent service and one that can easily go underestimated and forgotten. Thank you all so so much.
