"Nightmare trying to actually see a GP."

About: Brockwell Medical Group

The system you have at the moment does not work. You can rarely see a GP you have to either make a telephone appointment on line, sometimes for a week in advance or call into the surgery to book a phone appointment and go home and wait. It's not good enough, why have you changed the system?. When you visit the surgery there are very rarely any patients waiting, as the GP's are all on telephone appointments. WHY ?.

Thank you for your comments, we are sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties.

Our appointment system which requires a telephone call to a clinician first, has a number of advantages.

Often your problem can be dealt with on the phone so will not have to visit the practice.

If you do need to be seen face to face the GP will make an appointment, usually that day.

This works well for many of our patients; however we acknowledge no one system suits all.

We offer extended hours via a “Hub” which can be useful for those who work and I have provided detail below. Please visit our website www.valensmedical.co.uk or ask at the practice for further details.

The “ Hub” operates Monday to Friday 6.30pm to 8.00 pm and Saturday mornings between 8.00am and 12.00pm (midday)from our existing practice locations in Ashington, Cramlington and Morpeth.

Valens hub services are run by Valens Medical Partnership. Our extended access hub service is part of a national NHS programme to enable NHS patients to access primary care services in the evenings until 8.00pm and at weekends.

The hub is staffed by clinicians from Valens Medical Partnership’s three local practices. They know Valens patients well. All records of consultations are passed back to a patient’s home practice in real time through our integrated clinical systems.

The partners take access seriously and are currently working on a new model and considering new options to improve access which we hope to implement in the near future.
