I was accepted onto my new Rheumatologist's list when my previous one left Hairmyres. That was last year. I've never seen my new rheumatologist in clinic since then & when I phoned the Rheumy nurses for some advice the Dr got involved in the conversation & asked the nurse to tell me to go to GRI as they weren't a specialist in Systemic Sclerosis.
I was obligingly referred to a Wishaw Consultant who 'has an interest' in the condition. Speaking to an other SSc patient who is way sicker than me, I find they are being treated by none other than the rheumatologist who referred me elsewhere. How very strange.
Is this a personal issue they have with me, someone they met once several years ago? They Hypocratic Oath maybe needs to cover being truthful in all patient dealings. I'm absolutely disgusted by these actions. People with incurable progressive illnesses have emotional & mental health needs as well as the obvious physical ones. I think at the very least, this doctor needs reminded of that.
