"Staying Abstinent so I can be the best Mum for my Children"

About: Change Grow Live / ResoLUTiONs Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service

(as a service user),

The Hub

I started the Hub 2018 MAY . I was a very nervous person and I was a mess. I used alcohol to get through all my stresses and I found my addiction mainly happened around payday (benefits) every two weeks.

I self harmed a lot back then to release all the bad feelings over the coming months had key work sessions this helped with talking about my feelings &  gave me confidence to get into groups. Relapse prevention, David (manager) runs this & I find it helped but was not enough to open up the way I was feeling inside. Going into 2019, more group started, and I came out of my shell and I attended women groups (Keesha facilitates) and I came out of there every time feeling better about motherhood, diets, girl problems etc . I attend smart group this is facilitated by Saqlan. He gives me so much confidence  and motivation and I always look forward to his next group. After this I go into Saqlan's Acupuncture group and  this also relaxes me and outs me in a calm mood for the rest of the  day and help me sleep rest fully at night. My new key worker Ellie sees me weekly and helps me sort all my outside problems out i.e .Solicitors, social services and any other worries . I have also I have made a great  group of friends. That I see in and outside of  the hub. So this also help maintain  different challenges I feel confident that I can maintain my sobriety  and I am proud of my graduation  and myself. I will always be grateful to  the people who have and are continuing to help me maintain every thing I have achieved.
