"Labour experience"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary / Maternity

(as the patient),

I went into labour and had my baby at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation. My labour experience was horrible and the staff on the maternity ward were extremely unhelpful. My birth plan was a waste of time as the birthing centre was closed when I went into labour, because of the staff numbers and that it was Sunday they didn't have enough staff.

I was in labour for nearly 23 hours and I had a midwife and a student nurse - both who were unhelpful. The midwife was extremely rude throughout my labour, didn't treat me as an individual - I was just another number to them. They had poor attitude and if they don't enjoy what they do, then they need to look elsewhere. I should have taken advice from family and friends who suggested I go a different Trust.
