I have had chronic pain for a number of years. I felt that the consultant I saw recently was extremely rude, condescending and was very archaic in their attitude. I was not examined, offered only one option and the only advice was stated from what I felt were historical sources.

What ever happened to a wholistic approach. I left almost in tears due to the attitude and apparent lack of care and wholistic approach. No questions about the impact my condition is having on my life.

Words cannot express how I thought this mentality and what felt like a total disregard of my condition.

Some patients are vulnerable and need to feel listened too.

I have never left a consultation feeling so upset about the shear approach taken. I share this story to help improve and try and prevent other vulnerable patients having a similar experience.
