"Eye Department appointment"

About: St Mary's Hospital (Newport)

I had an sight test at a local opticians on March 12 - four months ago.

I was told I possibly have glaucoma and would be referred to St Mary's Eye Department for an appointment.

Obviously I am feeling concerned that I may have the condition.

I feel that four months is a ridiculously long time to have to wait without hearing anything.

Would it be possible for a referral to be acknowledged as soon as it is received, with a note explaining how long the wait might be for an appointment?

At least then I would know that I am in a queue . . .
